This delicious, nourishing Spiced Pear Smoothie is the perfect holiday grab-and-go breakfast or snack.
The holidays are the time to indulge, and this recipe allows you to indulge in festive food without any of the guilt. It is made with in-season pears, cinnamon and nutmeg to add a bit of holiday warmth to your busy weekday morning routine.
This shake makes it easy to eat healthy because it takes only 5 minutes to make and is made from nutritious ingredients like fruit, milk, Greek yogurt and honey. It also makes a fantastic afternoon snack, because the fiber from the pears and the protein from the Greek yogurt will keep you feeling full for a long time. The cinnamon provides a solid dose of antioxidants and can also help to lower blood sugar levels.
My only tip for making smoothies is this: When adding your smoothie ingredients to your blender, always add the liquid (in this recipe, the milk) first near the blades. Doing this will help your blender to run a bit more easily.

- ¼ cup low-fat milk
- 2 pears, cored and chopped
- Half a banana
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 teaspoons honey
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch ground nutmeg
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
