Korean Ground Beef Bulgogi (Easy 15-Minute Recipe!)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Optional toppings: Sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and/or sliced red chiles

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef and cook, stirring constantly to break up the meat, for about 5 minutes or until completely browned.
  • Stir in the soy sauce mixture until combined. Allow mixture to simmer for about 2 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve warm over cooked rice, garnished with optional toppings.

Notes

  1. To cut down on carbs, you can serve your beef bulgogi with cauliflower rice instead of white rice.
  2. For best results, I recommend using grass-fed, organic ground beef for this recipe.
  3. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days or in the freezer for up to three months.
