Ingredients

olive oil

yellow onion,
diced

cloves
garlic,
minced

crushed tomatoes

dried basil

dried oregano

crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions
In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes. Season liberally with salt and pepper.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes until slightly reduced and thickened.
Taste and season with additional salt and pepper, if needed. Serve warm.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to five days or in the freezer for up to three months.
